Auto repair in the United States is split between independent shops, dealership service departments and national chains. Independents handle most routine work (oil changes, brakes, tune-ups, check-engine diagnostics) at lower labor rates and often specialize in one make or in imports; dealers keep factory tools, software and warranty authority; chains sell speed and standard pricing on maintenance items. Most shops charge a diagnostic fee, credited toward the repair if you go ahead, and quote parts and labor separately. Certification matters: look for ASE-certified technicians and, in many states, a state repair license posted at the counter. Written estimates are required by law in most states before work begins, and you are entitled to your old parts if you ask.

Trustworthy shop with very helpful staff. Took my car to get inspected after the Ford dealership diagnosed an issue with a strut bushing previously replaced by Community Auto. The diagnosis of the dealer was found to be incorrect and the actual cause of the noise occuring was determined to be the steering rack for which no service was required. The inspection provided had a great outline of how the conclusion of the inspections were reached making me confident in the findings. Furthermore, they did not charge me for inspection of their previous work and didn't provide any additional charges for actually locating the cause of the issue.

This crew has taken AMAZING care of my CSU grad student and her east coast 'vintage' car she's lovingly named "Daisy". Trust doesn't come easy, and this place has definitely earned it. Thank you! from this mama's worried heart.

Great auto shop with friendly technicians. I have had service on two vehicles at this shop and have totally been satisfied with their work to get my vehicles on the road in good shape. I thoroughly enjoy engaging conversation of service being done and problems they are pursuing. Their shop is very clean and orderly, including the floors. While repairs to vehicles are expensive these days they certainly are competitive with the βbig guys shops and certainl a lot more pleasant!

I donβt have the equipment to perform AC repairs at home, so this is one of the few times I need to deal with a shop. This place was highly recommended to me. When scheduling the car for service I stated βMy AC has been intermittent, the compressor makes noise and will likely need to be replaced. I hope it didnβt shrapnel and cause other issues.β A pretty straightforward and to the point βdifferential diagnosisβ in my opinion. They charged me $280 to perform a comprehensive inspection which I did not ask for, and to evac and refill my refrigerant along with dye. I was told it was just low on refrigerant and the car was ready for pickup same day. I picked up the car and still heard the rattling noise. Brought the issue up before leaving the parking lot. Was told by a technician that itβs an older car and that the noise is normal because the fans are loud. Hmm.. ok. Made it 5 minutes into my 40 minute commute home, heard the compressor kick off, and the AC stopped working. Made it home since I had somewhere to be and made plans to drop the car off the following morning again. Following day they came back with a new diagnosis.. bad compressor. Shocking! $960 more and the car was read

This place is absolutely the best! I moved to Fort Collins 1-1/2 yrs ago and was so lucky to find this garage for all my car service needs! Friendly efficient staff, top-notch mechanics, easy in and out and fast service! Family-owned biz with honest people who give a detailed estimate and detailed report of service that tells you what was done, what should be done soon and what they'll keep an eye on for the future. Great pricing. I've been ripped off by service garages in the past elsewhere ~ this place can be trusted! Bring your car here and you'll never be disappointed!
